Dr Tommy Wood – The way to a man’s heart is through the stomach

Dr. Tommy Wood looks at the role that gut health and genetics plays in why a LCHF approach may fail for some people.

Dr Wood is a qualified medical doctor, graduating from Oxford University in 2011 with a previous Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences and Biochemistry from Cambridge University. After working as a junior doctor in the UK for two years, he is now working towards a PhD in neonatal brain metabolism at the University of Oslo, Norway. Dr. Wood is also an experienced rowing and strength coach, and has written and lectured on the multiple beneficial effects that optimal movement can have on both health and performance.

Dr Wood believes in a whole-foods approach to diet, and that food, movement, sleep, community, and the outdoors should be at the core of the treatment for any illness. Dr. Wood is the Chief Scientific Officer for the Physicians and Ancestral Health Society, and has lectured internationally on systematic approaches to treating chronic diseases. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of Nourish Balance Thrive, a company that specializes in optimizing the biochemistry and performance of athletes.
