The Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension along with the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center are pleased to host Mr. Gary Taubes on Thursday, May 9th from 9:00am to 10:30am for his lecture entitled Why We Get Fat: Adiposity 101 and the Alternative Hypothosis of Obesity. Gary Taubes is an award-winning science/health journalist, co-founder of the Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI.org), a recipient of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator Award in Health Policy Research and the author of Why We Get Fat and Good Calories, Bad Calories

The closest physical address is 12800 E. 19th Ave, Aurora, 80045. Here is a campus map. Hensel Phelps Lecture Hall is located between RC1 North (#13) and RC2 (#12).  Parking is adjacent to these buildings and costs $1/hour.

  • Thanks for sharing this invitation. My partner, son and I were able to attend as Ken and I were in Denver to visit my son and see some baseball games (and to have lunch at Fogo de Chao). We really enjoyed hearing Gary’s lecture. He truly is brilliant and a wonderful speaker.
